Mount Abu is a part of the densely forested Aravalli range. These forests are the home of different tribes of the region since ancient times. Almost 43% of the total population in this region and the entire Sirohi district is tribal dominated. The Bhills and the Garasias are the main communities present in this uneven hilly tract of southern Rajasthan. Apart from the tribal communities, Mount Abu has grown surrounding its tourism sector. Staying in gated community has not happened in Mount Abu, still people prefer to stay in independent houses. Many big bungalows are visible, generally owned by people outside Mount Abu.
